Is there a special tool to use to tighten up the lines behind the IP? My 19mm wrench does not fit well behind it to tighten it up.

I used a Line wrench and open wrench when I replaced my IP, but it was still a PITA to get the bottom lines. Good luck, just take your time so you don't round off the nuts.

Get ya a stubby open end or cut a china brand open end wrench in half. Still tuff, but much easier.

Get a crows foot socket, its like a line wrench but you hook it up to your wratchet so you can get leverage. NAPA carries them, maybe advance and autozone.

You need a 3/4" crows foot for a DS4 6.5L, a 5/8" for a DB2 6.5L-6.2L .

Impossible w/o this tool!!!

I found a sequence that works for tightening the IP lines, its kinda like a jig-saw puzzle, you gotta work at it for a few minutes to undersand which to tighten first and which to tighten last. It is simple though, you need to do the bottom ones first and work up. Logical way to do it.

I figured someone would argue with the "Impossible"

There are members (TDG and QM?) that can do right side injectors without removing fender liner or turbo - Nothing is impossible

Right side injectors were a piece of cake first time for me. Heat shield came off and nothing more. Glows were pretty easy too. Never will understand the need to take the inner fender off.
I'm thinking I'll figure out the jigsaw puzzle with the IP lines when the time comes. Analytical minds tend to find these puzzle things that the General sends us as a challenge to win at. Special tools? Humbug.

I use a Snap-On 4 way open end wrench.

I've got an extra one that I picked up at a tag sale if anyone's interested.

Hey Joispoi, you ever fix your stalling problem??

Yep, you can remove injectors w/o removing the turbo or inner fender, thats how I did mine. Glows, all you have to do is remove the rubber fender flap that covers the Upper control arm and protects the engine from water splash.

I guess I'm one of those guys too.

But for injection pump lines, I use the crow, much easier.

Some people take the pump, lines and all off and then put the lines on a new pump off the engine and put it back on. I can't possibly see how this could work, because something would be out of alignment... But, I'm sure it's been done.

Thats cool that you can, but with my 94 and the 3" downpipe there is simply *no* room unless I am missing something.

Just never know what I may come up with? Hmmm, I'll try harder.

Texas Diesel guy uses a two way. I use a four way. Some people go both ways.:)
