Not having seen it, what is this material like? Is it thermally conductive, or does it have insulative properties? Questioning install over radiant garage floor. Always looking for more options. Epoxy works well, but Race Deck looks too cool...

Check over @ Overstocked.com. I remember seeing the checkered flag stuff pretty cheap over there.

I have the RaceDeck and like it thus far. It's like a hard plastic (my non-technical term) and is very strong. I'm not sure about installation over a radiant floor. My recommendation would be to call racedeck directly (www.racedeck.com) and ask them directly. Overall I am very pleased with it. Note, there are many "look a like" products out there but based on my research the Racedeck is the best as far as quality/durability and warranty. That was 6 months ago though ...

Also, the black/white checker looks cool but the white tile is a pain in the arse to keep clean and shows dirt, grease, etc. I heard the black/gray combo is popular for this reason. It's easy to clean ...I usually sweep them mop monthly with simplegreen/water solution and it looks like new again.

That's where I first got the idea! I am waiting to hear back from RaceDeck on the product. If I only have to raise my floor temp 10-15 degrees, I'll do it. Much beyond that, and I'll be out of what I consider to be efficient heating territory. BTU's cost $$$!
Thanks for the replies.

Have owned RACEDECK for over 2 years,it is ok for a show garage but not for a working garage.I have black + white , DO NOT BELIEVE IN THEIR AD that it is not effected by oil etc. IT IS!!! also do not put this where it will get direct sunlight as it expands from the sun,it will lift off the floor by itself (even leaving the reccomended spacing at edge). If you use your garage as daily vehicle storage you will be married to that floor. It also sounds "funny" when you walk on it.After 2+ years the white tile is now not so white and has been cleaned many, many times.I admit it looked great for the first week, but i would not use this product again.
THANKS,:( STAN
