Well I've been dealing with this problem too long. I have a 1999 toybox 25' Wanderer with a 6K portable gen. & my Battery will not charge when the gen. is running. Also when I run the microwave it pops the breaker on the gen. BUT not all the time (very strange). Also the AC usually pops the gen breaker as-well. But I can run the TV with no problem. This weekend I tried to use the toaster and it popped the breaker on the gen. So I hooked up my friends gen. to my trailer and his Gen. would do the same thing as mine did,but would work fine on his trailer with the TV/micro/AC/ all the lights on . Is their a voltage converter or regulater that could be bad and where would it be mounted? What could it be? I'm sick of going on trips with 4 Batteries and no Microwave. Thanks for the help !!

I would agree with the possibility of having some type ofelectrical problem with you trailer. Sorry I can't be more specific than that. I have a 5600watt Craftsman generator and the only time it pops the gen breaker is when it is 100 degrees out and the AC is workin' hard. Other than that, no problems.

Ya I agree. I just don't know where to look or how to check the system . I guess I'll have to break down and take it to a shop like camping world or some place.

Hi, I have a 5th wheel with onan 2800watt in it. Have you check the amps. when this happins? If you have a 6k gen than it rated for 50 amp are you are pulling 50amps or is it a spike that takes you out? If its a spike than you have a lose wire somewere, maybe the breaker panel. If you go looking in there don't forget to unplug from the house.

Reset and check on any GFI's like in bathroom! They can do bizzare things that make no sense! I had a trailer that the GFI caused my TV to have distorted picture and colors and breakers to pop! All I did was reset it and all was well! Can you disconnect your 120 volt to 12 volt converter/charger and see if AC and microwave work fine without blowing breakers? (Listen for a humming/fan sound - look for a 120 volt breaker that is labeled 12 converter or something like that! It will be fused or have a breaker! Disconnect it! It should only affect 12 volt lights, etc.) If the AC and microwave work fine, I'd think bad converter drawing too much current! Does it pop breakers when running off your house electric! Plug it into a washing machine outlet (25 amp) eliminating generator and see if it blows any breakers! If it does, something is drawing too much current! ***My bet it is your 120 to 12 volt converter is defective!!
Hope this helps guy! If it doesn't, have the converter checked for how much current it's drawing by a good RV electrician! Keep us posted!
