I am going to put my gauges in today, but the one thing I cant figure out is how to mount the pillar pod. I have the push rivets but I dont know where to drill and put them. I've read about people cutting holes in the old pillar cover but I wanted to keep it incase they ever have to come out. The pod is the auto-meter 3 gauge. Thanks!!

I don't know about your 2005, but on my 2001 I mounted the pod so that the bottom of the pod is about 1/2" above the dash with the pillar cover in place. You'll have to mark and drill the pillar cover to install the pod with the push pins. You'll also have to drill or cut a "window" in the pillar cover to pass the gauge wires and tubing unless you want it exposed and running down the outside of your pillar cover. If you want to "go back" you'll need a second OEM cover.

Yes you will have to drill holes. I did not have to cut my stock pillar to run the wires, was just real careful about doing so. It will all fit together you just have to be patient and go slowly. Cutting the stock pillar is easier though. Good luck

The way I did mine was we pulled the wires to the right so they were laying where the defroster vents are.. Installed the regular pillar back and then pulled the wires to the pillar. Once the wires were where they needed to be, we put the gauge piller cover over the stock and pulled the wires through the holes. Plugged the guages in then pushed the gauges the holes. At least with my gauge cover, I didn't need to drill.. it fits very snug and doesn't budge, vibrate or move in any way. Since it doesn't move unless I actually grab it and move it myself, I'm not going to drill into anything.. Looks for a better mount when you don't see the black tabs.
Just another idea to try before drilling.
