I am putting a Duramax in a Jeep Wrangler project and want go with a Turbo 400 tranny, does anyone know if this will bolt up? You can get an 8.1 with either a allison or a 4L80E, so do you think the 4L80E which I believe is the same bolt up as the old 400 would bolt upto the Duramax. Thanks for the help.

Why not just use an allison. I think you would need a modified turbo 400 in order to handle the torque.

I use a reverse vauled tranny and that would be hard to do with an allison, also the length of the drive train becomes an issue,, also hard to get adapter to go to a Klune V or atlas transfer case. A Turbo 400 could handle the power and would be easier to adapt (at least on the back). I just do not know if the tranny would bolt up?

Im pretty sure that the bolt hole on the back of the engine are the same as any other gm engine where the bell housing bolts on. check out this thread http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=52925
