Thanks goes out to DMax Tim for the certificate and Howard for getting my truck on the express train. My salesman was amazed at how it got here much quicker than usual! It took a total of 60 days from the day I ordered it.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

WitsEnd,

Congrats go out to you too and welcomehttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif. Your not alone in the first diesel club. I wasn't sure if I wanted one, but now wouldn't change it for anything.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gifEdited by: Voodoo

I am trying my darndest to wait for the '05's for various reasons. Does anyone know about when GM will begin accepting orders for the '05 models? I'm guessing about Sept. 1.

Your lucky! I still have to wait for mine to be built on the 23rd of this month. Then wait for shipping http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gifhttp://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Disapprove.gif

My first report on the LLY

Things different than 01:
Fuel filler accepts large nozzle. Haven’t tried high flow pump yet.
Speedometer is more accurate. Within 1 MPH according to GPS.
Fuel gauge is more accurate. Actually really good.
ECM and TCM seems more refined and smoother.
Shifts and TC lockup are a little sooner (MPH)
Cruise control works better, smoother, not as jerky.
Power is good but tough to tell. Only 800 miles and no Juice.
Much quieter inside. GMC, 04 or just new??

New from 01:
Headlight switch. Can turn off lights with momentary off position.
So far I like the power extending mirrors.
DIC - I like all the information. It’s fairly accurate. Will be nice with aux fuel tank.

DIC showed:
20.8 gal used
18.4 MPG
382.4 Miles
Actual:
22.5 used
17.0 MPG

382.4 Miles (Haven’t checked accuracy against GPS yet.)

Did they change the filler neck on the 2004 models?

If they did that's great, wonder if the 04 filler neck will fit on the 01-03's.

I would like to change mine, when towing the 5th wheel it's A whole easier going to the semi pumps, lot more room to maneuver.

The 05's should be ready to order late June or early July. GM shuts down to retool the first two weeks of July.
