Hello, I just bought a 78 ford f900 tandum with a inline 6 cummins. The Id plate was missing on the engine and nothing on the door frame. I found a number on the block 8 digits and called it in the cummins guy says ntc 350 but that he is not familiar with older engines. Could this block be the same on lower horse motors 250, 290 ect? I guess I'm trying to find out exactly what kind of engine I have, is it a good model, and what it is going to cost to get in good shape. Thank you

I'm not too familiar with them but the NTC is a whole family. Military 5 tons had 250's in them way back. There is also small cam and big cam versions. Sounds like you need to find a better Cummins guy if he doesn't know anything about them.
