Newbie here...Been reading lots of post's here thanks for all the info but I still have questions.

1) Banks 6 gun with pda vs J/A. I think I like the J/A combo better but if I could use my own dell pda the cool factor would be way high!! Reliability of either, possibility of throwing codes?



2) How does everyone know they have thrown a code what are they reading it on?? I thought you couldn't read it with a J/A.

3) How do I erase codes if they are MAF or EGR related...after the MBRP gets added?

4) I have searched many a thread to find these answeres only to find more options and more confusion.

This D/A is the best truck I have ever owned, this is way better then the 6.0 gasser I had before it.

Also when I add the J/A or equivilant should it be removed before I go to the dealer? Same with BS if i get that as well? Thanks guyz:blahblah:

I like the J/A combo. Have mine a-pillar mounted - at night - it looks awesome - As far as codes go - juice wont read them - you need another programmer to do this, PPE xcellerator for eg., If you install an mbrp cat back - no codes to clear ( per my experience ) if you go turbo back then you probably will - you will wanna get the egr plate and the code eliminator ( search on this site - you will find out all you want and more..) To erase codes either programmer - pep boys ( auto parts store in my area ) will do it for free, depending on the codes thrown they might not be able to clear it though. If you talk to your service department at your local stealer - you could probably be able to feel them out if they would let ya get away with the programmer - if not - its pretty easy to remove the Edge if need be...

Well one bonus, maybe the Banks w/pda isnt the same HP/TQ gainer of the Edge/*** but you can erase and read codes with it. Ya, its a little expensive but i think you get a pretty good programmer.

From what I have seen, the Banks runs stronger than the Edge on the LLY and about the same on the LB7.

I dunno, I cant compare since my Edge/*** is on a 2500 truck taht weighs 7500lbs and the Banks is on a 4500 that weighs 11k. :)

The banks did make a huge improvement and the EGTs were well in check.
