Well all back orders are taken care of and I have kits on the self once again.

I picked up the sample rock guards and will try to get a picture of a completed kit with it on tomorrow. Kits will come with the rock guard and the price of the kit is now $295 plus shipping. Anyone that gets any Racor kit will get the guard. However it will be a week or so before I get them in from the sheet metal shop and powder coater.

Can the rock guard be purchased separately? I.e. for those of us who purchased the original Racor kit form you 6+ months ago?

Greg,

What is the maximum inlet pressure/flow you can feed your setup with?

Why is your wiring harness much better than the Racor built kit?

Do you both use the exact same filter/water separator and head?

Yes the rock guards can be purchased separtely when I get them in.

The max inlet pressure is 30 psi and max flow rate is 60 gph.

My harness is better because yo do not have to put anything together your self. Mine is plug-n-play and much neater looking. Yes we both are using the same 660 series filter and head. They use a 10 micron and I use a 2 micron.

Greg,

Do you have the same setup without the WIF sensor

Which one on your site is it?

The only thing I need is the rail mount kit with the rock guard.

Thanks Mac.

I do see several kits and I think the last one in the list is the "GM Approved" kit...., but like the others I'd like to see some pics. I'm thinkin' I want the kit without the WIF and I like the heated part, but does this kit ($210) come with a wiring harness so the heater turns on with the OEM heater or is this a switch activated operation. Not to be critical or anything but a more detailed description would be nice. I don't have the expertise that some of these other guys have and I need it spelled out, AND pictures go a long way in helping me. Thanks,

JP

OK here are the pictures of the rock guard. Now these will be powder coated just like the frame bracket. This one was a sample before I gave the go light to make them. These should be available in about a week to ten days.

Heartbeat
I am in the process of redoing my whole sight so you will be able to better understand what you want. Yes the kit for $210 is what you want if you don't want the WIF. And yes it will include the wiring harness.

Greg,

What is the difference between the 660 filter kit ($210) and the 690 filter kit ($220)? There is a $10 diff. in price, is the 690 a bigger filter, i.e. longer, and what are the pros & cons of each?

Also, is the 660 the same as the OEM filter or do I have to buy different ones? I have a case of the OEM filters and it would be nice to be able to use the same ones at both locations.

Sorry for all the questions I'm just tryin' to do it right the first time.

Thanks,

JP

The OEM and the R60S are not the same. They are too completely different filters. The 690 is a larger filter in lenght only. I have sold a few 690's but 99% are the 660. The kit you are referring to is the heated kit. If you want the WIF and all that its $295. Rock guard, mounting bracket, filter bowl wrench, wiring harness and filter assembly are included. The heated only kit includes all the same stuff less WIF.

I have had an over whelming response for this kit. I am out of brackets and rock guards but should have them in about a week. Sheet metal shop says their part will be done by midweek. Then they go to get powder coated which takes a day or two. Those that have gotten kits without the rock guard will get them as soon as they come in. This kit is all-inclusive, as will all others when the rock guards come in. Filter head with filter, heater, WIF, brackets, rock guard, bolts, hose, fitting and bowl wrench all for $295. Part of the hold up on rock guards was my fault because I went back and had them put a radius on all the corners of the rock guard. I am having extra rock guards made for those that went them for earlier kits. Thank you for or patience and we will have it all sorted out soon.

Greg,

Thanks for the nice well made kit. I just put it on today and everything went as expected.

I bought the heated version only and I have not made electrical connections up yet. There is no big rush for the heater as Winter is winding down in the Midwest.

For all those listening, pre-filling the filter prior to installation is the way to go. All I did after making up the connections was to pump the primer a few times for good luck and fired the truck up. There was no stalling at all. Ran around the country block and everything is fine.

The UHFP on the 2004's require removing a brace from the fender to the firewall to remove the cover to make the electrical tie-ins. That will be saved for later.

Thanks to all for the forum help and to Greg for a great kit.

By the way, How may pink wires are going to the UHFP?

Greg, will the WIF work with the 690? Just curious. AkDually61

For those of us that live in warm climates where it never gets below 30 degrees, is the heated version of the filter necessary? Or is the $160 kit all that is necessary?

You do not need the heater in the south. Other option is the water in fuel sensor.
