Well I started to hear some noise in the front end about 4 months ago, my truck has about 110,000 miles. It seems like the wheel bearings were the culprit. Well when I tried to find some replacements I could only find them at the stealer, $350.00 a side!!! Well I pulled them off and they separated, I heard of this happening before so I mark them before I started the removal. Well the bearings and races were all in really good shape, the plastic cage was all intact, just a little light on the grease. I repacked them and pressed them back together to where my marks were. Put them back on and so far 10,000 miles later no problems or noises what so ever. So I hope maybe this will help someone else save $700 or more.

Your luck your bearings are not sealed. Then you have to buy a whole new hub every time-:t

According to all the parts places, they all said it was a unitized bearing/hub assembly, cannot be rebuilt, only replaced. I think the hubs are one piece on 00-02's. I decided to try and repack and press the hub assembly back together, against what everyone said. So far, so good.

Sounds like the Ram front ends are having the same problems as the Fords front ends. The price for the Ford hub Assembly is about the same as the Dodge's too.
I also was getting loud noise out of the front driver side wheel area last summer at about 190K miles. I brought the hub assembly to a Ford tech at the largest Ford service ship in MN. He said it looked good but you may want to replace the race and grease it up good. I then took the assembly to the parts department to get the race and was told it's not available through Ford, $350 plus tax please!!!
I bought the required seals to put it all back together (under $10) and now at 208K miles all seems well, no more noise.
To best explain the noise it made was the noise you hear while going over an overpass or a bridge. The truck would hit a bump and the noise would start then another bump and it would go away. Sometimes it got so loud I'd pull over and the wheel would come to a screatching halt and go away.

Thats the exact same noise I had, hit a bump and it would start, hit another bump and it would go away. So far so good with regreasing them.
