I have a GM-3 turbo on my pickup and have noticed that it seems to be leaking oil from around the bottom of the turbo onto the exhaust manifold and/or motor mount. I checked the rotor and it seems to be in there solid without a lot of play. I'm guessing this means it is a seal somewhere. Is this something I can tear into and replace myself or will I have to send the turbo somewhere to be rebuilt?

Thanks in advance for your advice! :hail:

The oil return line is on the bottom of the turbo.

Yes, you can rebuild them yourself.

Thanks guys. It has been cold and rainy here lately, so I haven't wanted to check it out at night when I get home. I took friday off to do some work on my truck, so I should get a chance to inspect it further then and decide what it might need at that time.

Are the seals and rebuild kits something that the local parts store might have or do I need to order it online? Vendor recommendations?
