I have a buddy going thru a divorce and he just called and said he will sell me his ppe hot cheap or let me use it to see if I like it. He has a edge/juice now and only has used the ppe once. Just wondering if there is some kind of vin lock after he reloaded his stock tune.

As long as he returns his truck to "stock" before letting you load the tune, it should work fine. I know there are some tuners that get permanantly VIN locked tho...im 99% sure the PPE is NOT one of them.

And I think you probably can even get it updated for free if there is an available update for it, but better call PPE first to verify.

Yes, PPE is pretty good at updating your tune for free if you purchased or have their product. But, please make sure you call them to confirm this information. Good Luck!
