not sure where to post this......

this is my air horn

i've got it mounted under the truck. bolted to the black flat piece of metal just under the front of the bed, a foot or so above the exhaust, to be exact. it is bolted down with two bolts.

bolts are 1/4 20.

you can see in the picture the two mounting holes. is this enough? it's pretty solid, but i can get it to budge if i nudge it a little harder than i normally would.

i've got the 'pedistal' that it came with.... a U shaped holder with a flange on it. but i can't seem to find a place to secure it to a hardplace and the horn.

you think it's going to be ok? i'm thinking of running a zip-tie around it before i head out to my cabin so if it does decide to come off i can save the horn.

gimme your thoughts

I mounted my stuttertone just behind the front bumper on the frame. It is pointing towards the driver side. I think there are some pics floating around here of someone doing the same. If not, I can snap some photos. Air tank and compressor mounted on outside of frame under the passenger side door.

i've got everything hooked up. i'm just waiting to go get a couple more fitting for my actuator and i'll be done.

what do you think about it's sturdyness? did you just mount yours with the two holes?

mine is pointing backwards so it's not like it's "catching wind" also that area of the truck (even after a muddy rainy day) doesnt see to be in the least bit dirty, so i dont think a lot of anything travels up there.

I mounted mine without the pedestal and it is holding up fine even after almost a year. I made an "L" bracket for the horn to mount to and then thought the horn might vibrate, but it doesn't move hardly at all. I think you will be fine, but jus tmake sure you keep all the hoses, etc away from the exhaust...don't want anything getting toasty.
