Two weeks ago on my 03 2500HD D/A w/ 15,000 mi my ABS and Parking brake light came on and a message in the DIC said to service brake system. I brought it to my dealer and the "fixed" it. Said there was service bulletin for the problem and ther re-programed the brake controller computer. All was fine for a couple of days, now the above DIC message and companion warning lights come on randomly and dealer says they can find no problem. Any Ideas?

Check the ground at this location. It's on the frame rail under the driver's side door. Take the bolt out and clean the frame and the wire eyelets. Sometimes they don't clean off the undercoating well enough at the factory before attaching the grounds.

I have the exact same thing happening randomly to my truck...03 c5500...took it to dealer and they say there is no problem, no codes stored. When I took it in the lights were off (of course, lol)
you say there is a TSB for this? I'd like to point it out to service rep and have this fixed on my truck. I will take a look at the ground cables, I doubt if they'd be in the same place on my rig tho...

Had this same problem happen to me. Can't remember what the code was that was stored, but it was something about the brake pressure. They couldn't find anything wrong (pressure tested the brake system) but they reworked/replaced all of the grounds(so they said). Have not had any problems since.

bogie,
I dont know what the tsb # was or the title but the guy behind the service desk told me that there was a tsb for it, he said it had to do with reflashing the brake computer as the vehicle accumulated over 15k miles, diddnt make sense to me but that is what he said.
i checked the grounds havent had the problem again, knock on wood.
Hope it helps.

DTCS=Diagnostic Trouble Codes. They reprogrammed the ABS to prevent a false dtc p0550 setting.
