i have an 02 that has done it since new , only noise from the front though. he could try www.performanceproducts.com (http://www.performanceproducts.com) they sell these solid pads that go between the calipers and pads. it should work in theory, because the noise is from the metal to metal contact. its worth a try , i dont know what models they make them for, but a phone call is cheap

My 02 3500 has also done it since new. I had the tires rotated a few weeks ago, and my tire and brake man said the brakes are in excellent shape.

My truck has almost 5k miles on it and when I am backing up and am lightly on the brake pedal, the rears squeak a little. I have checked the pads and rotors and they look and feel like new.
