There is a name for this type of post…but, there is also a name for the opposite so here it goes…
My experience has been just the opposite of Ltrain. After I loaded the 1st tune I also set a code (P0236), within 50’ of the driveway. I also had problems setting the tire sizes and it had a wicked surge when the turbo came in. The “Tool” was purchased from JK. I sent him an E-mail explaining my problems. The next day I got a response from Johan at DIABLO SPORT. He help me with the tire resizing and explained that he had “not been able to get a hold of CA truck guys for some reason” and asked if I would be willing to test some tunes for them.
After some software and file extension hick-ups, that we resolved with-in a couple of days. I had a new tune loaded. I drove with this tune for about month and did my best to very the conditions. During that time I had no codes and the surge was gone. The tune smokes a little while I’m at WOT, but it’s not bad, in fact if you like smoke, this will be disappointing. I’m happy…Well not at the present. Currently my “tool” is in <st1:State><st1:place>Florida</st1:place></st1:State> having all the tunes reinstalled. I should have it back in time for the LA Dyno day. Then I’ll be happy again. Did I say that the “stock tune sucks”. For those of you with a Ca. truck. If your looking at or have a Predator there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Once I get the “tool” back and have a chance to drive it I’ll post my impressions. And just incase anyone is wondering…The only thing I’m getting for this is a “tool”, that I paid for, with 4 tunes that work on mine and hopefully (should) other CA trucks.
