Wondering what the procedure is for replacing the filters on the 6.2

I know I am supposed to fill them with fuel but what are the other tricks?

The one on the firewall is pretty easy just take the old one out and fill the new one with fuel and screw it back on. The one on the intake is a little more tricky, take off the lines on the bracket then unbolt the bracket and take it over to the bench and stick it in the vise and take the old filter off, fill the new filter with fuel, put it back together and fire it up.

:exactly:

Later model trucks are more complicated.

One additional trick is to replace the first one, start and run to purge the air, then replace the second one. Filling prior to installation is a must. Less chance of air lock if you do them one at a time and run the engine in between. If you're lucky and good at the same time, and you have good batteries/starter, you can change both without a problem as long as you pre-fill them with good, clean diesel fuel.

I like changing the primary first, start, run, purge the air, then change the secondary, same drill. It saves cranking if it gets an air bubble, which it does on about every other truck I do.
