I hate the fact that you have to turn off the truck... put the e-brake on and start the truck again to turn off the lights! Is there any fix to this?

Read your owners manual for full details. By pushing the interior light shut off so many times, (3?) daylight running lights are shut off.

depress your interior dome light 4 times and it will switch the light controls to manual.

I have an 05 and the DRLs can be defeated by turning off the auto switch. This is a pain and sooner or later the switch is going to wear out. I like to have the DRLs defeated during the daytime but they are really handy at night for the perimeter lighting. So to my question, is there a way to defeat the DRLs during the day (either by tying the auto headlights circuit or the ignition to ON) and not affect their night time operation. Or does someone have a schematic or wiring diagram for the 05 Auto Headlight switch?

Thanks,
T

Is there a separate fuse for the DRL's on the newer trucks (99+) like on my old '98 z71? I removed it the first week I bought it. ):h

6.6,

Not sure on the fuse but I still want the DRLs to work as perimeter lights after dark, so fuse probalby wouldn't be the answer.

On my 98, I wired the headlights/DRLs to automatically turn off when the ignition was in the "ON" position by wiring across the relay. Worked out very nice.
