Do you have on star? If you do give them a call, they will help you with the code.

I just got my truck back tonight code PO181,fuel temp. sensor I am not sure what it was doing I am going to call service dept. tomorrow. I was told that the fuel sensor determines the temp of fuel entering engine at fuel rail then turns on fuel heater if needed does any one know were the fuel heater is? nothing was done because they reset the code and ran truck and drove no code set. This code problem happened twice that is why the code set.I have the flow chart from the dealer any help would be great.

If it's set off for low fuel temp, there's your answer. How cold was it in Chicago on wednesday? Just my .02 L8R

Wont the cold weather front set off that code too?

again ther is a reprogram out for this code.. p0181
do you have k/n. and did you plug your block heater in.
they said they cleared it and drove it.. does not make any scense. p0181 is related to fuel temp and only checks the sensor after shut down and 10 hrs of non use.
dont be suprised if it comes back and if so use on-star get the code and i diag it over the net.

Is there a reference # for this reprogram of po181 so I can tell the dealer when it happens again. according to the snap shot this code was set early in the morning on my way to work. I have been using my block heater before work I wonder if one temp sensor gets to close to limits when the other 2 temp sensors are not IAT, fuel temp.I don't have any books yet so I am going on what the dealer gave me.
