: Remove Edge before any type of warranty work?
brickie 11-05-2005, 11:44 AM I have to take my truck in to change the NSUB on tranny. ( Pretty sure that is the problem ) Should I remove my Edge with attitude as well as the Edge sticker on rear windshied? I was wondering if they would document my truck having a performance enhancing product which could affect warranty coverage in the future? Thanks in advance.
DURAtotheMAX 11-05-2005, 11:47 AM Well I removed it and I thought I was being really sneaky when I first took my truck to the dealer (I didnt remove the Attitude tho), but when I picked the truck up, the diesel tech said "those Edge's are pretty good boxes, but dont turn it up above 2 or 3 or else you'll blow the engine". Oh well... Now that they know I dont even bother taking it off. But if I were you I'd take the Edge off, and if its not too hard, take the Attitude out. I would not worry about the Edge sticker...

partsguy662 11-05-2005, 11:48 AM This all depends on your dealer. Some are very lienient about power adders (modules and plug in programmers anyway) Others will drop the hammer on you. If you're unsure, you would be wise to remove it.
BlackMax Canada 11-05-2005, 12:44 PM DURA...how hard is it to remove the attitude from the overhead console (ATS mount)? I assume you just tuck the cable in somewhere neatly (underhood end) in attempt to be out-of-site-out-of -mind.
When I get J/A thats the route I am likely to take, as I have lots of time left on warranty
There have been lots of reports of dealers hassling folks, including refusal of warranty coverage, for juiced trucked.
I'd surely not bring it in for injectors with it hooked up.
DURAtotheMAX 11-05-2005, 01:40 PM I didnt even bother removing the Attitude, only the Juice itself. They obviously saw the Attitude cause they warned it could "blow the engine". Now that they know its there I dont even bother unhooking anything. Removing the Attitude from teh ATS mount is kinda a pain. Probably a half hour job just cause the fit is so snug.

Max Power 11-05-2005, 01:51 PM It would be easy to get a second console and swap the entire console. They are cheap on ebay. Better yet, get one with homelink for your main console then use your original for taking to the dealer.
Duratys 11-05-2005, 02:24 PM I would in no way shape or form leave anything in the form of a power adder installed when a visit to the dealer arrises. The "pain in the ass" of removing this stuff is a small price to pay vs being red flaged for not having warrenty.
GMC2500HD 11-05-2005, 07:57 PM I remove everything with the exception of the gauges before mine goes in.. I don't want to take any chances.
Jim659 11-05-2005, 08:50 PM I remove everything with the exception of the gauges before mine goes in.. I don't want to take any chances. Me too, it's a pain in the a$$ but worth it.
Adam711 11-05-2005, 10:31 PM Just had my truck in for service, was concerned about the Edge / Banks / Airaid voiding the warranty but NOPE, dealer was fantastic, mechanics drooled over the truck, they performed lots of free work under warranty and gave me no hassles or lectures whatsoever.
flhrciblueice 11-06-2005, 12:53 AM I would remove the juice and monitor. I remove everything but the pyro probe. I just tape off the leads. When they ask about the leads, I just tell them I haven't had a chance to install the pyrometer yet.
dls64chev 11-07-2005, 11:59 AM Bottom line, depends on the stealer. I mean it just goes to show you how retarded the dealers are. How the hell is a edge box going to blow up your engine. Hell the service manager at my dealer ship wanted to ride in my truck to see how much faster it was.
Tsckey 11-08-2005, 12:59 PM This is the main reason I didn't buy the Attitude with my Juice. I unhook the box and I'm clean.

I have Attitude/Juice and can have it all out in less than 5 minutes. The Attitude is half the reason I bought the Edge.
Diesel-N-Dust 11-08-2005, 03:25 PM I remove everything with the exception of the gauges before mine goes in.. I don't want to take any chances.
Yep, some dealers will look for any excuse to not warranty the work.
I have been there.
broken73 11-08-2005, 09:46 PM I just got mine back from the dealer where they replaced the fuel bleeder valve. All I did with the Attitude was turn the power setting down to 0. The dealership said absolutely nothing about it. In fact, I spent about 45 min talking to the Diesel mechanic and in his opinion the Juice w/ Attitude is by far the best chip available on the market.
