For you guys running the Juice/Attitude and the BS. How do you like it? What level can you now tow on with out EGT problems?

So no one has tried a Boost stick with a Juice/***?

I am thinking about buying one but I do not want to mess with my EGR. I live in the Seattle area and they are tough on that stuff. I have been reading if you install a BS you have to disconnect your EGR or install a BP and FS.

I think the reason this not being answered is that it has been discussed numerous time in the Boost stick threads.

FWIW, the Juice is one of the best matches to the Boost stick. EGT is less of an issue than transmission capability now...

really I guess I just missed what level everyone with the Juice/*** is able to tow on in all the pages of the boost stick threads.

Honestly, I was thinking about the same thing but in regards to the tranny. I'd like to get the boost stick, but curious if I'm still going to be relatively safe on level III w/ my juice & a boost stick? I know, I know... safe bet is upgrade.

Kennedy has said that the BS make the Juice/*** run like the next stage higher. So I am assuming the means you would have to drop to level 2. But I would also like to know what level I can tow on with safe EGTs as 90% of the I have to turn my juice to the stock level to tow.

Forgive me if I am missing something, but the Attitude has a de-fueling option that will protect your truck if the EGT gets out of hand. Run the highest level you can without going over 1250 degree exhaust temperatures. The more power you can run, the better mileage you will get, assuming you have the self control to keep you foot out of it. The trick is to keep the RPM at 2000 or less. The more power you have the less often the transmission will need to downshift, therefore keeping the RPM lower and saving fuel.

A stock transmission should be able to handle level four of the Edge / Attitude, again assuming you don’t thrash the truck. If you don’t want to go over that power level why stack with other power adders?

I never tow anything on Higher than stage 2. If you need more than a duramax on stage 2 to tow something you must be climbing one heck of a mountain.

My latest has been to set the Predator on 40 and then move the Edge up and down for conditions. This was impossible before because of the smoke. With the BS and setting the Edge to CARB low boost setting the smoke is tolerable through all the power settings. Ususally keep the Edge on 2, but if I am bogging down while towing I will kick it up.

FWIW, I tow at 26,000 GCVW and sometimes more. Tranny is built to take the load. Lots of winding roads on fairly steep hills. Merging into highway traffic is a joy.

Hook the Edge up to the same EGT probe, that's what I did. Isspro gauges on the pillar and Edge/Attitude in the overhead console. The Isspro gauge will read slightly slower than the Edge;)

Agreed

We towed on out trips out to MT and UT on levels 2 and 3 primarily. Truck would hold it's own on any hill. The only time I clicked it up was if we got held upand wanted to accelerate to regain speed.

This was towing my 25' car trailer (3300# and my 02 7800#) at 75 mph most of the way. We use cruise 90+% of the time...

I tried the VA, but it just did not seem to want to tow for me. This was pre boost stick days so I was running prototype units. I'll have to try again with a production unit some time.

Thanks for all the replys it sounds like I will be able to use settings 1 and 2 for towing without EGT issue:ro)

you will love the bs just like fingers was saying i now run my predator at 65 and the edge i move up and down it works great also like fingers said was because of the boost stick i can run a higher setting without the smoke. smoke is fun but sometimes you don't want it hence haveing to run lower settings now we have the boost stick thanks to fingers and john kenndy
