Today I was driving through a pasture and a stick came up and busted the NSBU. The SES light came on and I could not drive. I replaced the NSBU and everything works except the truck will not go into park, and the SES light is still on. I am able to drive the truck and if I reach under and push on the linkage manually I can make it go into park. I think the stick damaged the linkage. I am going to check it out some more tomorrow in the light, but any ideas on how to get the SES light to go off?

Disconnect cable from Ally ( screw driver will pop the plastic loop off ) First of all be safe and block the wheels . Move the shift lever on the trans and make sure you have all the detent gears ( 6 clicks, 7 positions ). Then have someone in the cab move the shift lever on the colum while you watch underneath and see if the colum lever moves freely from park to !. Something will show .
