I noticed someone posting this website the other day:
http://autotap.com/products.html
Anyone have first hand knowledge of this product? I believe it was mentioned that it can read and erase codes also. Looks like a pretty neat tool...not too expensive either. Thanks. Edited by: Amberjack

I've been using AutoTap for GM and Ford gasoline vehicles for 4 years. I like it. I use it mostly for tuning prior to drag racing, but have used it diagnose trouble as well. Mine works on all three of my vehicles, and I've used it to help friends also. I haven't tried to hook it to diesel yet, but I will in a couple of weeks when mine arrives.
I'd check and make sure what parameters it will support on the Duramax before you buy one. It might not read in the data you are trying to find.

Just spoke to AutoTap....scanner works fine with Duramax but wont work with the Allison. So my question is....where are the tranny "codes" stored? Would this product work?

I mentioned it in a post, I was looking at there site and there is a mention of allision trans it should be this link

Maybe its not out yet?
I have used it on my duramax when the juice went haywire and made the check engine light go on.
My brother uses it for his gtp. If you already have a laptop defiantly get it, say a friend of yours has a check engine light, you can easily check the codes and figure out the problem.
