I am wanting to install gauges in my 04 (LB7) Chevy D/A, you know, the usual two: EGT and Boost. But I also want to install an oil temp gauge, but where is the best place to put the sensor. Don't like the idea of putting another hole in the oil pan so that's out... Any suggestions?

I installed a oil temp guage in mine.

The easiest place to do it is down by the oil filter.

If you look at the oil filter mounting area you will see some pipe plugs in the housing, you can remove one of the pipe plugs and use that hole.

You will see oil temps that warm up almost as quick as coolant in the morning and then usually hang a little higher than coolant temp when warmed up.

I usually see 200- 220 deg oil temps, up to a max of 260 I saw on a long hill pulling a trailer.

Thanks DD, sounds like the oil temp will be the easiest of the three to install. Guess I was worried for nothing.......
