While lubing my truck I noticed that the dust boot was torn on my drivers's side lower ball joint. Anyone else have a similar problem?I'm assuming the only way to fix it is to replace the ball joint?

Dealer will take care of under warranty if you have any left.

If it isn't under warranty I would just keep it greased and watch it. If it gets loose then replace it. If you don't go offroad it will probably last quite a while.

Warranty will replace whole "A" arm assembly. I overfilled my grease boots and blew three of them out in 2 months. I had no idea they weren't supposed to be filled so they were hard to the touch. Oh well, warranty took care of it. Edited by: neverenuf

Thanks for the replies. It is under warranty, so I'll try to get GM to fix it.

If you do your own maintence play dumb when they ask you if how much grease you put in the boot. Tell them you never greased it if you have to. Just don't volunteer any info.
