I am thinking of making my own cold fronts out of aluminum diamond plate. I was just curious if anyone has attempted such a thing. I have not figured out how I want to secure it yet, any ideas there? I am shooting for a non-drill method. A friend of mine has a powder coat machine so I am thinking I can make them match the stock grill pretty easy.

how thin can you get diamont plate, i would think the thick stuff just would'nt look wright, forming with heat is easy enough?

I am looking at a sheet that must be about 1/16th of an inch. Pretty thin I was actualy thinking about go up to 1/8th of an inch. I would put some kind of backing like that foam tape stuff to prevent scratching. Still have not figured out how to do the attachment points yet though. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif

Thanks for the link. They are not exactly high tech are they. I am going to go by the local West Marine and see what they have that might work. If not I am sure I can make some as good as the cloud rider ones.

I didn't know the hardware was not stainless until I read it here. When my cloud rider covers come in, I plan on making some new hardware out of stainless in the shop at work.
