Theres a quick chirp when I shut off. I'm almost positive its from under the hood. Turbo maybe? Any ideas? Thanks.

Chirp is from the serpentine belt on shutoff. Nothing to be concerned about until it becomes a long 'screech noise'

Then it is time to replace the belt tensioner. Very common on Diesels, especially the CTD.

The high compression of a diesel causes it to stop very abruptly. All of the other belt driven components want to keep rotating and therefor the belt slips a bit and that is why you hear a chirp.

Why doesnt my belt chirp?

I recently had a new tentioner put on, because my old one looked like a minni jack hammer when the truck was running. It chirped with the new one for about a week and stopped.

What about other trucks??
On my old gasser the tentioner would'nt hardly move.
