: Engine Smoke issue - Receipt Issue is this true?

:help2: Well my problems start a while back with #8 and #6 injector replacement.
Those were replaced 1 month ago. Soon after my engine compartment started smoking while stopped at red lights. I crawled under it and noticed just behind the skid plate a mess of oil and gue. Took it to the dealer and they are saying I have to authorize 10 hour labor to find the problem b' GM will not authorize it.

Tech says better have all my oil change receipts and filters and such. I say no but I've written everything down in the book GM gives. He says I could get stuck with a $2k diagnostics bill plus parts so what do I want to do.

Problem, my truck has 85K miles on it. I thought this stuff was covered to 100k?

Is this true that my claim can be denied b' i don't have the receipts from Wallmart for my oil and all my filters from (dieseltech, good guy)?????

I am screwed b' I can't afford to have them dig into it for 10 hours and then find out GM says not coverage then 10 hours to put back together. $2000.00 bucks at that point. I am absolutly screwed.

They said the problem is 2,4,6,8 injectors are leaking. Leaking something, I really didn't get a good explanation.

What should I do? This could end up being 2k to 4k to fix it? And I need 6 new tires soon (dually), this could be a $5k month to keep a truck that I take in each month on the road. I work from home for Gods sakes (thank God).

I am very confused on this receipt issue. b' the 100k warrantee is worth nothing???????????????

Find another dealer. You are being screwed by them.

It is under warranty. RUN! Find another dealer.

If it's under warranty, which it is.
I'd find another dealer.

But if that's unfeasable, I have 35,000 miles of receipts and a copy machine ):h :)

Thank you for all your replies. I might take you up on that receipt request. You can fax them to 847-387-0060 (dedicated fax in my office).

I am really stupid here, I had no idea you need receipts to get things fixed. I wrote down every maint item in the little book they give and figured that was good enough. NOT! Leasson learned, and a hard expensive one.

Funny thing is I told the dealer to put it back together and have it done ASAP and they were extreemly suprised. The service guy said, "Wow I am suprised I really thought you'd have this fixed! What will you do?"

I told him if they had cared about their customers they'd be fixing it but since they don't they will not be fixing it.

This just follows that attitude that GM thinks the customers will put up with mistreatment, bad product service and charging us 50k for a truck. My wife says hell no to a new truck. Which I can't blame her.

I've really liked my truck and take A+ care of it. Mobil 1 changes all the way around for a long time now. 4 to 5k oil changes, washing, waxing, and taking care of it like it would last for a good while. I am just heart broken that all the money spent, time, and efforts to care for it are for nothing.

Again I'll take those receipts. 847-387-0060 fax. A huge thank you.

I am hoping you guys are right. I will get it back today and schedule to take it some where else next week. Thanks for the replies.

Does anyone have the 800# off hand for GM.

Scott, think about this logically. They replace 2 injectors under warranty. Now they say those two injectors, along with 2 others, are leaking. Do you really need all of us to tell you they are trying to screw you when they say you have to pay for the diagnostics now? Don't be so gullible!

The 800 number is in the owner's manual.

oh I'm not. The dealer was shocked I was taking it out of there. "oh we'd thought you have it fixed." NOT there.

I took it to this dealer b' they are 5 minutes from my house. Guess I'll be driving a little bit now for service. None of the dealers are that fast around here. The old take it in Monday, they don't look at it until Friday business. If I stuck to my appts like that I'd be broke and have no customers.

Thanks again for the replies.
