I am in the process of purchasing a 2-post 9 or 10k lift. I want to put it in the corner of my shop which is 36wx48l. Can anyone give me dimensions on how and where they installed theres. I have to put as close to the side and back walls as possible. I want it so I can pull straight in or back in depending on what I am working on.
If anyone has any rough measurements or ideas let me know.
Thanks
Aaron

Mine is 3 feet from the wall. It sounds too close but it works out really well. No different then walking through a door.

I would put it no closer the 11feet (from center of hoist) to a wall on front or rear. This allows you enough room to drive through enough to open the door freely and still walk in front.

11 feet would be the absolute minimum at the rear because a crew cab long box will pretty much be at the 11 foot mark. Might want to go a bit more on the rear.

Like Max said, pull in what ever you think will be the largest thing you will want to lift, then measure around it. 3' to the side walls from the post is plenty like Max said. I would make sure you have room in front to roll a cherry picker or whatever and have room for a tool cart/bench. No fun being crowded on a hoist. I back all the vehicles in to the hoist in my shop, that way the engine is in the center of the shop, plenty of light and room that way. My larger hoist will allow me to back a dually through it.

Thanks for the input guys, its exactly what I was looking to hear. Now I can take some measurements and order one next week.
