I have been working on converting my 79' Chevy C10 (1/2 ton 4x4 long bed)to a 3/4 ton diesel.

I bought a parts truck. A farm truck that never saw the highway. An 83' K20 with a 6.2 diesel. I pretty much have everything I need from the K20 to put into the 79'. The K20 was so rusted and wasn't worth restoration. But the 6.2 diesel was dealer installed a couple of years ago and is very tourque-ee'.

On top of that, I purchased a set of new 3" lift leaf springs all around. The front are 1-ton 3 stack. The back springs are for a suburban application. The truck feels every bump on the road so it rides ROUGH! If the long bed is filled with dirt, the truck barely squawts.

The dana 44's are coming out making way for a front (8 lug) dana 44 and a 14 bolt for the back.

The TH 350/203 transfer case is coming out being replaced with a TH 400/208 transfer case.

All these parts are from the K20.

I took measurements of my 79' and figured the diesel radiator which measures 35" at the core is too wide for the 79' in a way it will hit the air conditioning lines on the driver's side. With out changing the condensor, AC compressor lines, ect. I could install an Aluminum radiator with smaller dimentions with out changin the AC system.

Is there an Aluminum radiator for a 73-87 Chevy that could accomodate a diesel?
