Is there any GPS mapping program that includes a listing of US locations to purchase diesel fuel?

Any online database that shows such locations?

Any publication?

This won't do exactly what you are asking, but close. Map Create 6 software for Lowrance GPS units locations (by name or closest) of gas stations or truck stops (2 different choices). The truck stops obviously have diesel, the phone numbers for the gas stations are listed so you can call them if you are running low and ask if they have diesel, find the closest one that has it, and head there.

Try these:

Diesel Boss (http://www.dieselboss.com/service.htm)

TA Travel Centers (http://www.tatravelcenters.com/ta/display_diesel_fuel_prices.phtml)

Flying J (http://www.flyingj.com)

Trucker.Com (http://www.trucker.com/truckstops)

I know there are others for Love's, Petro, etc.

Don't look for green handles. I was driving through IdahoSprings Colorado in dire need of fuel. When out of the corner of my eye I spotted a entire row of green handles. It was a brand new BP station. I thought to myself Diesel paradise! I drove the length of town and then flipped a uturn. Pulled up to BP, jockeyd for position and then hopped out of my truck. Boy was I suprized. Every pretty green pump handle was gasolene! No diesel on site. They were just going for color cordination. HOW LAME! I blazed out of there quicker than an escaping specimen from the Bonzaikitten.com. I ended up back down on the other end of the strip. After that day I never look for green handled pumps and do not think green pump handles is a law of any type. Edited by: Bronco

Rolling thunder, first thing you need to do is get rid of that 26 gallon tank that comes stock. Get a 45 gallon tank from Transfer Flow with the big fill neck and you can drive on pass all those green handle pumps smiling all the way. Somewhere in the next 700+ miles you will find a very busy truck stop to get your next "load" of fuel LOL

34 gallons in the long bed. That will be adequate. Think I'll just carry a couple extra gallons in one of them plastic jug thingees. Will add a spoonful of 7 micron contaminants to the container so I don't need to worry about the fuel getting contaminated in the future.

I've the stock 26Gal tank. Accordingly, I carry an extra 10gals in the back. Surprisingly, on our trip to TX, we were panhandled for gas at a roadside reststop ~ I don't carry gas. One would think people would carry extra when out in the middle of Nowhere TX or at least be an autoclub member. Same thing happened later while fueling at a gas station. Guess I really need another tank for gas too ~

When I travel pulling my 5th wheel I always carry A 5 gallon jug in the bed of the truck, I know that's not much fuel but it could be the differance between walking and driving.

Those panhandles stories are just stories, they really want cash to buy something besides gas.

Down in LA (could be anywhere) the panhandlers carry around broken fan belts and walk up to you while you ae pumping gas/fuel and have a sob stoy about their family stuck in the car and they need $5 bucks to get a new fan belt etc. etc. etc. I bought into this once and gave the guy $5. I had to come back to the same station a couple of days later and the guy was making the same pitch to someone else. I yelled at him and told the people there he was scamming.....end of that story, he just went across the street.

It's hard to sort out the people really in trouble from the AS% H*&%'s who are just trying to get cash for whatever purpose.

Anyway...such is life!

I had a fellow walk up in a parking lot with a oil filter in his hand that looked like it was laying out in the dirt for a few years. He said he had broke down and of course needed money. After telling him to get lost I wonder if some other poor fool would fall for it. I know if I were broke down the last thing I would do would be to change the oilhttp://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif
