Buddy of mine wants to hook up and see who will pull who. He has a 05 6.0 CC SB FX4 with mbrp duals and a cold air intake (not sure of the make) and stock tires. He also has a Superchips tuner but agreed to take it out for the pull. My truck is bone stock except for 285 BF's A/T's. Should I tuck my tail or take him up on his offer? I have only had the truck for a few days and I am not sure how I would stack up.

Are we talking pulling a sled or pulling hooked up back to back here??

You would both have the power, but he will weigh more, so he will probably pull you.

Hookin back to back proves nothing at all. Doesnt matter how much power you have, Its depends more on traction and weight.

I gotta agree with that statement..No sense doing this really..
Racing I can see, sled pulling I can see...Pulling hitch to hitch is just pointless...

get a 1/2" 4X8 sheet of steel and put it under your bedmat, drag him all over the place.

Hitch to hitch can just be fun sometimes between friends.

Thats for sure. Me and Teddy Bear in the above post hooked back to back, and it was a blast no doubt. He had 1k lbs of suitcase weights, and i was empty and we both just sat and dug 4 holes in dirt.

Turn the torsion bars down, get a set of air bags for the back, throw on some weight, raise the hitch, spool it up and kick that fords a**!!:grd:

air down the tires, put a water bed in the back and put it in 4Lo... you could pull with a 4 banger with that setup.

This is a question of traction more so than power....

Keep in mind this is completely worthless unless you video tape it.;)

Your absolutely right. It is fun! I've seen alot of torn up turf, as well as a bunch of broken chains/straps. Before you ruin a $50,000 truck, take a look at your rear drive shaft. To me it looks huge, but its damn sure not made for pulling something thats trying to pull you. I tell my buddy with an 04 F250 PS CC 4x4 LB with the superchips on 35's that I will pull him all over the place, although we haven't done it. I have however smoked him in a side by side race. Both of us have chips, Both of us have 4" Exhaust, he has the airraid intake, and I just have the drop in K&N filter.:boxing:

Raising your hitch is an awesome idea...when you are pulling him your taking weight off of his rear tires, and he is putting more on your rears.

Caution: When the chain or strap breaks, or heaven forbid you use tow hooks (can you say projectile) it is going high towards you, and low on his. (HEADS OR TAILS?):cussing:

When you hook up to him with a rope, chain or strap. Make sure you put a tire or 2 on there so if it snaps it woun't go flying into your tailgate.:ro)
