I know Marc was talking about looking into a CNG set up for our trucks.

I'm wondering about tanks and compressors plus the regulator stuff.

Anyone have any info.

Looks like we may be getting a couple of oil/gas wells drilled soon :ro)

There is a company in Canada that makes a compressor called the FuelMaker. It runs $5100, and compresses the equivalent of a gallon an hour. I estimate this to be around 125 cubic ft/hr. On a converted gas engine, they will get at least the same miles on the equivalent amount of gasoline. Anyway, the compressor has to be rebuilt every 4000 hours, and when I checked several years ago, this cost $400. So, you need to add 10¢ to every gallon pumped forever. It has a 2 hp motor, so it would probably be around a dime/hr in electric, at least with our regional price for power. I haven't priced tanks yet, but I know they are really expensive. There is a company locally that does conversions, they usually have a bunch of used ones. I just haven't had time to go forward with this project yet, but expect it to be very satisfactory from a performance standpoint. The high octane rating of cng should allow alot more gas under heavy load. I plan to use a different version of the lp regulator, plus it uses a high pressure water heated regulator. The system runs 3600 psi.

Yep, he's the guy. He and his brother own the local CNG refueling station. His brother does gas conversions. Clayton has a refuel station at his house for 30¢ a gallon cheaper than in town. I think the current price is $1.99/gal in town.
