Saw this on the DHRA website, I tried to check out the link that's posted on the TDR but since I'm not a member I couldn't read the thread.

[quote from DHRAonline] Im sure you all are aware of the Turbo Diesel Register. We have been kicking around an idea for a sledpulling/ drag racing game for diesel trucks. There are games out like Gran tourismo and nascar etc. NHRA even has a drag racing game availible as well. We would love to see a game for us oil burners who love to torque the earth beneath our tires and show what we got under our hoods. Here is the link to the thread ..... http://www.turbodieselregister.com/f...99#post1329899 (http://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1329899#post1329899) . Let us know what you all think. We would love to be able to enjoy sled pulling even when an event isnt in our area. Plus vendors like edge, bully dog, Banks, etc could pick in for advertising. If you could email me back so i can post you alls response to this I would greatly apreciate it.

Does anyone have anymore info on this? Since the pulls are essentially over in my neck of the woods for this year, this would be fun for the winter months.

count me in, if it is for XBox. A diesel sled pull in my living room on my surround would sound GREAT!!! I'm not sure my wife would like it since usually she had to listen to the sled pull videos all winter this would just add to the fun!

This would be friggin awesome. The hard part would be making it realistic.

and where do you stop with the mods? the more you win the more you can buy or what?

As with most games, there is a limit as to how much you can "upgrade". After that it comes down to skill.

For a game involving truck pulling, it would be reading the track and knowing when to get into the throttle, both of which would almost be a must to make the game realistic (i.e. the track has spots with different moisture content, ruts, etc. and mashing the throttle from the start does not yeild the best traction or ground speed).

You could also start as a street legal truck, then jump up classes as you win and build a bank account.

Differing weather conditions could make it cool as you would have to adjust tire selection and gearing.

I would be VERY interested and think it's a great idea. The problem is I don't think there is a big enough market to make it worth while for a software company to spend the time making it realistic enough for our group. There are alot of variables to consider when trying to make a game like this (type of truck, wheelbase, gearing, tires, shocks, air pressures, ballast (and where on the truck to put it), type of track, track conditions, type of sled, weather, etc. etc.

Although we could have alot of fun designing the outfits for the trophy girls

I think it's great, but thinking logistically that it probably won't make sense for a developer to design it and try to market it to the "masses".

I agree, but it'd still be cool as he!!. We need to find a software designer that owns a diesel and get 'em into truck pulling and then it'd be all down hill.

Of course we couldnt do without the broken axles, smoked clutches, blown up turbos, twisted driveshafts, and oh yeah limp mode

I would definetely get it if someone made it. That would be like a awesome game too. Have mod selection so you could change turbos, upgrade trannys, and all other stuff. And also have real trucks on it too, like Tomacs truck or something.

I dissagree. It wouldn't sell off the shelves nationwide, but if the networks can justify airing sled pulling on tv, then there is a large enough target market.

Possibly to make the game sell better, there would have to be a separate game on the same disc, monster jam etc.

I like it.
