: Turn Buckles bending? (tie rod adjusters)

Recently I took my truck (06 DMax Crew 4X4) to a local truck accessory shop to have a spray in bedliner done. The owner and one of the employees there that both have late model Chevy trucks 4X4 (a 04 1/2 ton and a 05 3/4 ton) both advised me to replace the tie rod adjusters (turn buckles) ASAP because they are garbage and are the weak link on the IFS front end. Has anyone had a bad experience with this and if so who makes a good replacement upgrade? The shop claimed that even a dirt road can bend them that you don't have to be a hardcore offroad guy to experience problems.............
Is this BS or?

It says on the web site 30-40 min to install, is that accurate? How can you not have to do a alignment afterwards when you are messing with the tie rods adjustment? SO i guess if they make these than some of what my shop said was true.........

I would say that this is moderate BS. If your truck is lifted that may be closer to the truth but mostly, the breakage comes from sled pulling and very boosted 4x4 launches at the dragstrip :ro). They are NOT very HD but they will not break on a dirt road unless your're going 100mph and hit a 1 foot pothole in wich case a broken tie rob may be the least of your concern ):h

Personally, I just put sleeves this year when I installed nitrous on my truck. I've been doing boosted 4x4 launches with the HJAT and also Stacked with the Quad 215 for almost three years and I never bent or broke a tie rod. I just kept it under 10-12 psi at the strip.

Good luck
