04 Duramax had this posted in the 2500/3500 section.

What do you think about it? This looks like the various upgraded versions will be able to handle some huge amounts of torque and horsepower. Do you think Allison wants to cut into the aftermarket group for building high performance transmissions?

I am sure once the aftermarket guys get a-hold of it they will really get some huge numbers from these new models. Check out the link. I wish I could have ordered the Rugged duty service series. WOWhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif

Allsion Vocational Transmissions

Rugged duty series 300-540 HP 550-1590 Torque GVW 19500

Truck recreational series 310-540 HP 935-1590 Torque

These transmissions are being made as of 01/05/04 according to the Allison Web link, and were being deliverd as of 01/12/04. I wonder who they are being delivered to? GM ? Might they be going into some Dmaxes allready? They will be the only one available in 05 according to the site.

Last I recall, those HP are torque numbers weren't operating specification ranges, rather they were a conversion from english to metric units.

If you go to the link you will see they do list the Horse Power in both (Horse Power & KiloWatts) and Torque in (Foot Lbs & Newton Meters) thats why I found these to be some impressive numbers. Not to mention these should be a bullet proof tranny. Just wonder how much change for one? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif
