Can someone tell me how to tell what size (amp) alternator I have on my new baby? Thanks!

Look up the Regular Production Options, (RPO), Code in the glove box. You should have one of the three codes listed below.

8C6 Alternator, 145 amp (MSRP = $140.00)
8X5 Alternators, dual 105 amp (MSRP =$224.00)
K68 Alternator, 105 amps

I believe this info is also lazer etched on alternator.

Above info, and all RPO’s found at:

Well Baloo,

If minds must know......

Since I did not order my truck and one of the options that came with it was an upgrade on the batteries, hopeful me thought maybe the alternator would be upgraded. WRONGFUL thinking on my part.

It came with the single 105 amp alternator....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif

It' ok though, <font color="red">I STILL LOVE MY TRUCK<font color="red"> http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
