Hello there, I have a broken cigerette lighter, but I can't get the darn thing off?? is there a trick or something I am missing?? I've tried to remove the entire panel so I can get a better look at it, but it seems light the whole dashboard is connected. Can anyone help me?

4G634EVER, I had the panel off on my 03 Chevy HD. When I installed my XM Radio control head. That panel will pull off, and you will be able to work on the cigerette lighter. Start prying in one corner and slowly work your way around it.

Thanks for the reply, But I went as far as removing the dash plate, auto heating/air unit, driver knee panel, starting on the glove box and the lower portion of the dash when I realize the whole darn thing is connected with the hard plastic behind the dash, there is just no way to take the lower panel off??!! I can see the lighter, disconnect the lighter and feel the lighter, but I can't get it off short of removing the ENTIRE DASH!! I've pull engines and trannies in my time, but I can seem to get the darn cig. lighter off the car!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif

Guess maybe I jumped the gun on this one, sorry about that. My pickup has a center console. If you do not have the center console I can't help you. Pic of cig lighter.
