i am getting my truck back today and i am going to install the navi before class. what tools are need to pull the cover off and pull the radio out? my plan is to just stick the antenna in there without removing the whole cover. any info would be great

All that is needed is your fingers to pull the front panel off and a 1/4'' drive ratchet and ext. or nut driver. I believe it is 5/16 but not positive. Only 3 screws holding it in. Pretty simple.

Are you also going to install an antenna? If so, you have to remove the upper dash.
If you're just doing the head unit, take out the A/C controls first. That will give you a lot more room to work. The wiring is very short to the radio, as is the antenna lead. Be careful.

3 9/32 screws are all that holds the radio in... Its either 9mm or 9/32" IIRC.

You can mount the antenna on the frame that comes around from the instrument cluster. It fits fine there. I did the install last night. My screws were 7mm.

i got it in....i put the antenna on the vents behind it. i just layed it there and works great so far
