I have a 94 Chevy Silverado w/ 6.5 TD and want to add an aux fuel tank. I have a 6 port fuel valve selected and want to have each tank read correctly when switched. Will someone please help me with selecting the correct type of sending unit for the aux tank? I have looked in the Haynes & Chiltons manuals, plus here and wherever else I can surf. The 94 sending unit is expensive so if you know of another year that would work please let me know. Also, if you know the low & full resistance i wil ltry to find somethign from that angle.
Thanks for any help!

I have do this exact mod on my 84 6.2 truck and no it's not a dumb question. I used a full size blazer tank and sending unit and mounted it where my spare tire went. I matched wired it like the it was to the other side of a DTDP switch. Now that might not be exactly the same if you are running a after market type tank, but should be close

Searching some more- according to Alldata it is a standard GM 0-90 ohm deal. JCWhitney has a universal 6" to 24" model AJT132950R for 16.99. I'll try it out and let you know how it works. Sure would beat $350!

You can also try www.rockauto.com (http://www.rockauto.com), they have pretty good prices, and can get some aftermarket stuff that's usually MUCH cheaper than the stealership.
