: oposite...center seat to console?
Wickedsprint 02-06-2004, 09:48 AM I kinda wanna do the oposite, I have the grey cloth seats, I want the center console, since my center seat does not go forward like my old ford. If I locate a center seat replacement, is this even doable? What would be ideal is the center console out of an avalanche. I am NOT talking about the area under the radio, but the area int he very middle of the seats.
Lonewolf867 02-06-2004, 10:58 AM I was thinking about the same thing. Problem is I wouldn't have arm rest then.
Do you have arm rest on your seats?

Max Power 02-06-2004, 11:17 AM I don't think it would work because of the manual tranny. The console is a full console right up to the dash.
Wickedsprint 02-06-2004, 11:35 AM I don't have the arm rest, that's why I want the friggin center section. I still have the cup holders on the front of the center seat, and the shifter comes nowhere close. I just wonder if it would all bolt up, my buddies 04 avalanche has the setup I want.
Camstyn 02-06-2004, 12:26 PM I'm not sure what you mean, the only center console I can think of is the full length one that replaces the middle seat. Do you mean the center seat from the 40/20/40 split bench that the backrest folds down on, for an armrest/console?
nassdmax 02-06-2004, 01:31 PM What you want is the 20% seat that flops forward. It has a large storage area for junk in the part that flops forward. You should be able to find this easily.

Wickedsprint 02-07-2004, 01:51 AM Yes, that is exactly what I want, there was one on ebay for like 200 bucks...too much.
i have that split bench seat as well. i was wondering if i could cut the support tubing and attach a locking hinge to the tubes. dont know if they make a hinge like that but, i will start looking .

Wickedsprint 02-07-2004, 10:33 AM I also had the same thoughts, if you find one, lemme know.
nobull1 02-07-2004, 11:11 AM I have the same setup except vinyl and what I did was had a armrest made that sits right on top of the center section.I made mine the same color as seats and used 2 built in straps that go under the center section to hold it tight.I did not have a console installed but could have but the best part is I made it the right height that my arm can rest on the armrest and shift gears without taking my arm off the rest.I would not be without it now that I have it,just like it belongs there.I can take a pic and post if anyone wants just let me know.
Camstyn 02-07-2004, 11:24 PM Here is one, it just slips over your existing center seat..

Wickedsprint 02-08-2004, 12:47 PM I'd like to see a picture of the one you made Nobull, and Camstyn, thanks for the link.

Here are a couple of pic's I just took quality sucks it's dark out, color a little off and those white dots snowhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif.You can see the edge of one strap on the front bottom of the arm rest the other is behind the seat belt reciever. If you want to take a extra person just unhook and remove.Like I said previous you can rest your arm on the armrest and shift all gears without lifting your arm"a lot more comfortable" and it seems like the same height as the one on the door very comfortable having 2 armrests on long drives. The only thing I didn't get made was a incorporated console would have been nice but that's what behind the seat is forhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gifThe color matches almost perfect and looks like it belongs there. The poor quality pic does not do it justice. Also you can still use the cup holders
