Well as a couple members here have found upgrading just the clutch doesn't solve the clutch problems, the DMF (Dual Mass Flywheel) has been one of the keys to the failing clutches. Depending on how far you wanna go with your truck as far as power and what your comfort range in clutch feel is would be the desiding factor on which clutch kit to go with. If you get used to a clutch fairly quick then a double disk clutch with a SMF would probably be the key to holding a boat load of power. If your rather sensitive to clutch feel and engagement and don't plan on running anything more then an off the shelf program then I would go with a single disk clutch kit.
I don't know about everybody else's clutch kits that are offered or their current pricing but I will have a SBC clutch kit and flywheel available hopefully in the next couple weeks.
Hope this helps!!

I don't think they are hard to get used to at all, but when your talking to the general public everybody has a different tolerance for the information that you provide, to some if you tell them it's not that bad they expect it to be just like their stock clutch in regards to feel and how it grabs. And that's just not a statement that I can make, the first time I installed a double disk clutch and took it for a test drive the owner stalled it twice because the engagement was so much more solid then stock, after about 4-5 take offs he got the idea and everything was fine. Now if someone is expecting it to feel like stock and let up on it like it was stock and stall it I don't want them to feel like I misrepresented a product. I would rather tell you it takes some getting used to, so you are prepared for something different, then you will think much higher of the product when it's easier then you thought (Under promise, Over deliver!! ;) ).

this thread explains why the DMF is a problem (not just for duramax):

duramaxphil;
there is only one other guy who makes a SMF dual disc clutch kit for a duramax and he is hard to get hold of. That is why I got SBC started on the duramax. Anyhow, I have had his on my truck for a year. Several problems which I was not told to expect. One is that it is quite a grabby clutch. Not a problem for sled pulling or drag racing launches. However, stop and go street driving behind other vehicles, especially with a high ambient temperature makes it very tricky. I have stalled the truck many times. You have to concentrate on the pedals.
Anyhow, this is just one of the problems South Bend Clutch is solving and has of Dodge kits (don't know about Ford).
