I saw another thread on this, which was of little help.
I have an LLY personally... Got a new '06 6 speed at work last week..
The engine looks slightly different, and is substantially quieter.
8th digit is a 2...
I swear it's an LBZ, but how do I find proof??????
It pulls pretty good.... Truck has 1500 miles on it and reads 9.4 mpgs on the DIC....Pulling about 18,000lb.

8th digit is engine designation. A 2=LLY.
HOWEVER, you have a mutant. It has some LBZ parts and some LLY parts. Time will tell if you have the LBZ block, but you certainly have the ECM and TCM from an LBZ.

And intake manifold.
Pat... I just welded mine in so now I can relax when I'm within 5 miles of your place :D
Oh... look on your air filter housing. '05 LLY is 95mm^3 '06 LLY is 95.3mm^3
Someone reported that the LBZ is 93mm^3

That would make more sense, given it's making more power.

It will say on window sticker if lbz or lly, also says on air box what the horse power is. The lbz seems to run really good.
