Is there any way to get rid of the speed limiter on the D-Max besides using one of the programers?

Thanks,

Adam

Yeah I hear ya.One of the first things that pis##d me was the fact that the Duramax wouldn't go as fast as my 1997 350 Sileradeo before the speed limiter cut in.I researched all the Boxes,Programmers and found out none would do all I wanted, from one box anyway.I bit the bullet and bought The Juice with Attitude for the adjustable power on the go and the gauges(and theirs lots of options) and the Quad 135 to stack for MORE power, speed limit removal,RPM limit increase and code reading capabilities. The Juice is awsome.Driveability is spectacular. It's a whole different truck.

Quad, your pm box is full and won't accept any more pm's. I would be very interested in this type of tuner, provided it also allowed one to adjust the rev limiter.

I will just buy your 215 when i want to go faster. Need to convince the girlfriend that a tranny upgrade makes a better engagement present then a ring. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clown.gif

Sorry about the pm box being full! I am assuming they changed the maximum limit as I was in teh negative quite a ways!

I cleaned it out and you guys should be able to get a hold of me.

If I do a speed delimiter tuner I have no plans of changing the rev limiter or any engine parameters at all. I am considering just the limiter and throwing in the DTC read and erase program becuase I think it is handy.

Next we have to decide what a reasonable price is? Let me know what you guys would pay for this thing. IN pm please!

If you don't increase the rev limiter, is there really much to gain? I haven't taken it up to the governor in a while but isn't it getting close to redline?

I would be interested in a box that provided the basic changes without performance enhancements, i.e.

speed limiter, rev limiter (as mentioned above), tire & gear recalibrations & then the code read & clear functions.

It seems to me that the horse power enhancements are what cost so much, as they should. $600 - $800 is cheap, in my book, for 125 - 215 hp (try doin' that with a gasser). Anyway, a box without the HP enhancers should be in the "very affordable" range.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif

Could you also include the speedometer recalibration in this product?

I have not had a speed limiter since new. Looks like some people are going to get bent over (again) to get it removed.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

Any of you heard more from Quad about this?

I PM'd as he requested, but have not heard anything back about it. It may be because I asked about LLY compatibility, and no one has that with programmers or chips yet?

He may be doing his due diligence to see if it is possible. Hopefully he can make it happen with the requested features.

There is no problem in doing the things that are wanted. I am working with a distributor to handle this for us. I am not going to make this an actual part, but we are looking at doing a 1 shot run for dieselplace members. Pricing is the biggest concern as I want to get you guys the best price possible. For those of you that asked, yes it will be over $100. The hardware sells for more than that.

When we get this done you will be made aware of it and will have plenty of time to decide if you want them. More than likely we will give x # of days to order and we will fill orders as we get them, unlike a group buy.

LLY trucks may be a little behind. We have some cool stuff, but GM has also thrown a few suprises at us this time. We are recieving our 2nd LLY in the morning so that we can do some comparisons. I will keep you updated when we have something to talk about on the LLY.

I did get a lot of messages and we are working on contacting you back with further info.

Thanks,

Quad

I dont think I could get to over 110 MAX without the govenor. Seems like at 95 there is only maybe 300 useable RPM left...

Thanks for the update Quad.

I personally did not expect you'd be able to do something like this for a $100.00. But for me, if it gets over $200.00 then it will depend on what the unit can do specifically for the LLY setup.
