When you drive is the oil pressure supposed to increase.

My oil pressure (dash gauge reading) goes from about 40 or a bit less at idle to a high of about 75 when driving.

Is this normal, and yes this is my first duramax. My first week driving one, in fact.

yes it is. when its cold in the morning youll prob see it stays closer to eighty the first ten minutes or so too.
