Hi

I am the happy owner of a spankin' new '04 Chev 2500HD LT CC 4WD D/A which I am thoroghly happy with. I'm particularly happy that the radio stations/seat positon/mirrors/etc are set of each driver based upon the key used. (My wife and I are of different heights, musical tastes, etc.) If this truck lasts as long as my last one (170,000 miles on a gasser), I'll be tickled.

That said, there's something that I cannot figure out. Apparently you can set "UNLOCK FEEDBACK", "LOCK FEEDBACK", and "ALARM FEEDBACK" through the DIC and save each setting per driver. We've set both driver settings to flash lights on lock/unlock and sound the horn on alarm set. My wife's pendant makes the truck respond this way. However, my pendant does not. The Alarm Feedback is a lamp flash, no horn. With my key in the ignition, I can scroll through the DIC and the ALARM FEEDBACK is set to "HORN".

Obviously this is neither a show-stopper nor something that I'd necessarily take back to the dealer to fix. Just wondering if I'm doing something wrong.

I am pretty sure there is no differences in the keys. In other words the truck does not know which of the 2 keys are in the ignition. To change a driver specific setting you would first have to unlock the truck with the proper FOB then set the settings.

Thanks for the reply Max.

In the '04 you can set whether the settings are recalled on "Key In" or when the FOB is used. When I put my key in the ignition, the DIC says "DRIVER 1". Likewise, when I use my wife's key, the DIC says "DRIVER 2". The seat, radio presets, temperature, mirrors and everything move accordingly at key-in based upon the "driver", except that the Alarm Feedback is screwed.

The bottom line is that when the DIC says "DRIVER 1", the ALARM FEEDBACK setting in the DIC is set to "HORN", but the horn - she don't blow when I get out and lock the truck. :)

I believer that Driver 1 or Driver 2 mode is set by the FOB as well as the seat memory buttons on the door. So, if you unlock the door with the Driver 1 FOB, the DIC will read Driver 1 when you start with the key. Likewise, when you press the recall button 1 for the seat memory, the DIC will read Driver 1 on key-in or will read Driver 1 when the truck is running. Like said elsewhere, I don't think the truck can tell which key you are using.

You're missing the point. The bottom line is that when the DIC says "DRIVER 1", the ALARM FEEDBACK setting in the DIC is set to "HORN". I then get out of the truck and press the FOB twice (once to lock, again to alarm)and the horn doesn't blow. Do the same thing with the DRIVER 2 FOB, and the horn blows, though the ALARM FEEDBACK setting for each driver is identical.

Did you press the appropriate button (1 or 2) on the Drivers Door panel, and wait for it to beep twice. When the salesman gave us out orientation on our Tahoe he told us you have to press that button for it to keep it in memory. You can also switch from Driver 1 to Driver 2 with that button.

Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, I've tried that as well. I also read in the manual that you have to press the appropriate button to save the "FEEDBACK" settings while the setting is displayed in the DIC in order for it to be properly stored. No luck.

Hey, on the bright side, if this is the only bug I find I'll be doing well (based upon some of the horror stories I've read here in the forum!).
