Sorry...I didnt know which section to put this in...any mod feel free to move it if its in the wrong place.

How do I check injector balance rates with a Tech 2? I looked around everywhere in the Tech 2 but I cant find it. Im guessing its in "powertrain--->engine--->special functions" but im not seeing it anywhere. Does anyone have the instructions on where its located in the Tech 2??

thanks!

If I recall correctly you would like to see them at +/- 4, they start to get pretty noisy around 8. :(

Indeed +/- 4 in Park or Neutral; +/-6 in Drive (with E-brake on)

how does one aquire a TECH II ?it is sold by vetronix I dont have the website. you see them on ebay occasionally. but to use one with the dmax you need a candi module.(controller area network diagnostic interface module.) tech 2 is acctually too slow for these candi slows info down so t2 can read it. that is also vetronix.

Here is one I found on EBAY. OUCH, anyone want to go in. I figure if we get 200 people and we each chip in $20. LOL

Only the new Caddy's require the CANdi module as far as I know... the CANdi module is to communicate with the newer vehicles that use the GMLAN data bus instead of the old Class II. Our trucks (GMT-800) still use primarrily Class II, with the exception of one J-1578 CAN data line for PCM-to-TCM communication. I can do everything to my truck and read all the engine data and do programming without a CANdi module... I do know that the newest GM cars and new Caddy's such as the XLR do need the CANdi module.

If you're lucky like I was, you'll stumble upon an auction thats realllyyy cheap. I got my Tech 2 for about 600 dollars, but then had to buy a new J-45080 32mb PCMCIA card for an extra 400 dolllars. SO basically I spent 1000 dolllars on it...but thats still cheaper than the ~4000 dollars they are new.

Theres a cheaper Tech2 at that e-bay store that dosent have the extra part for the CAN module, which should be good for our trucks.
