Hello All
Sorry for the multiple post, keystroke error.

Anyway,
I am starting to investigate the market for a used duramax quad cab short bed, prefereably 4x4. I am familiar with diesels, (currently in a 6.5 two door tahoe), but as far as the duramax is concerned, I am in the dark. I would like some input on the things to look for when looking at these trucks. I know the injectors have been known to be problematic, and i have seen a little bit about the injection pumps being problematic. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Tranny issues (automatic)? what type of fuel economy to expect? transmission quirks? Thanks in advance for your replies.

i don't know what to say? the duramax is great, a mild chip (70 hp got my dad into the mid teens daily driving with 100 gallion diesel and tools. they are great. the trannies only down side is when you chip them over 100hp then they go down hill. the injectors were a problem for some, but my dad's truck still has the originals. it has loads more power than a 6.5

just look for a diesel truck like any other vehicle, look for something with lower miles and lower hours on it.

Good luck on your purchase.
I don't mean to be rude, but this has been discussed many of times with more info than you want to look at in this forum alone.
If you simply do a search on your issues it will clear it up for you. By searching it will also keep down on a lot of repeat information and keep it down to a much easier time to weed through what you are trying to search for.

Not to be rude either... But I'm surprised the Moderators haven't b!tched about your sig. Mine was half that length and I was made to shorten it. See quote below...

Shorten your sig. its too tall.

I can erase it if that is what they want. People on here are always wanting to know what everyone is running and I figured it was easier to read this way.
