: Collection fund for CntrlCalDmax
problemchild 02-04-2004, 03:00 PM I think as a group we are more then capable of helping a fellow member.
I want to create a collection fund for CntrlCalDmax and the repair of his engine. Maybe we can just send it to CntrlCalDmax.
If 1/2 of us contribute $5.00 each. CntrlCalDmax could buy a new engine.
I want to be the first to contribute $10.00 dollars.
ON EDIT ---->
We will sort out the "where to:" send money/checks at the end of this thread, keep checking back. It looks like some want paypal and some dont. It seems like paypal takes .30 cents per transaction + 3.2%. Thats .62 cents per 10 dollars which would be over 300 dollars if we get 5k raised.
Keep posting the "me too's" here and we will keep a running tally of amount raised for the engine repair.
Thanks guys...I feel this is a worthy cause!
On Edit--->
It looks like some of you want to help an umployed member who has to sell his truck (duramax54304 ). I guess we can run 2 fund raisers side by side. I have had multiple contributions for this member so now we have 2 going.Edited by: problemchild
Max Power 02-04-2004, 03:40 PM I'm in. I just need to know paypal account #.
After he gets enough money to cover his fix, I am taking up a collection for my suncoast upgrade and Quad 215. http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clown.gif
But seriously, I will donate to CntrlCalDmax
krash610 02-04-2004, 03:48 PM I'm in for $10. just let me know where and how to send it.

habanero 02-04-2004, 04:08 PM Hell, I give to sillier causes. Post a paypal account or address to send it to.
Rookiew/Dmax 02-04-2004, 04:12 PM If someone sets up paypal acct you can count me in.
Perhaps this can be a general fund, a charity of sorts that members contibute to. An elected group can manage and dispurse funds to the "needy". I would be happy to help out with the management (I am an Accountant), but I will NOT do it alone.
2MuchFun 02-04-2004, 04:59 PM Im in for $10! I've been killing it selling on Ebay lately and have a few extra clams in my paypal accounthttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif
Besides, the value of this site to me has already passed $10 smacks anyway http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clown.gif
Someone set it up and post the info. and cash is on the wayEdited by: 2MuchFun

thorco69 02-04-2004, 05:48 PM I have not read the post regarding the problem cntlcaldmax but it appears he needs help. Just let me know where to send a check and I will be glad to.
The way things are going with GM we may all need this fund.
Bronco 02-04-2004, 05:58 PM All types of groups have self sponsered health insurance programs. Maybe we should start a Dmax insurance fund? The only thing I see as a problem is the rules and regs. Talk about opening pandoras box!
I'm in, would prefer to do it PayPal.
PayPal addy?
Bulldogger 02-04-2004, 08:02 PM Count me in for 10.00. Also if anybody knows someone who wants a 2003 LT 3500 crewcab 4X4 with 5,000 in extra's in perfect condition please let me know. I would much rather sell it to someone one who would appreciate it, and could get in contact with me if they had any questions, then just trade it into the dealer for the auction blockhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif Thanks, Dave
GMC-2002-Dmax 02-04-2004, 08:11 PM Perhaps this can be a general fund, a charity of sorts that members contibute to. An elected group can manage and dispurse funds to the "needy". I would be happy to help out with the management (I am an Accountant), but I will NOT do it alone.
To ALL,
Although this is for a specific purpose a general fund with a "blank check" is not adviseable.
If members want to help CntrlCalDmax then that is OK, the information can be freely posted here and If members would like to contribute they can.
I would advise those interested to ask CntrlCalDmax ANOTHER way to send him money other than a PAYPAL account because of the fees associated with it.
I would think a money order or simply send a check if you want.
Good Luck...........

CntrlCalDmax 02-04-2004, 10:15 PM I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS! I REALLY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY ABOUT THIS THREAD!!
This is not the reason for any of my posts, I just wanted to let folks know about an unfortunate story that seems almost impossible. At least it did to me. I feel so fortunate to know so many people that are willing to step up to the plate to help soemone down on their luck. Although I am by no means rich, I do believe in taking responsibility for my actions (even thought I do live in Cailfornia). I have always known that if I play, (mods and such) I may, some day have to pay. I just didn't think it would happen this way. I expected more like a rod through the side of the block or a melted piston after pulling the rockies at 75 mph with the Hot Juice on level 4 and 11K in tow.
I would much rather see this thread directed towards Duramax54304 who wrote:
"I really HATE to have to write this.....But,I may have to sell my truck http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif I lost my job and now cannot pay for my truck http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif If nothing comes along soon I'll be forced to sell the "Mini Kenworth"
Thank you everyone for the thought. It is really quite something.

Trippin 02-04-2004, 11:04 PM I'm in for $20.00 for CntrlCalDmax and $20.00 for Duramax54304. Just need addresses.
Bowhunter 02-05-2004, 12:23 AM I'm in for $10.00 for CntrlCalDmax and Duramax54304. We have to help our fellow Brothers in arms.
Deuteronomy 15:7-8
"If there is among you a brethren in need, within any of the gates in your land which the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart nor shut your hand from your brother in need,
"but you shall open your hand wide to him and willingly give him sufficient for his need, whatever he needs."
Oldman 02-05-2004, 12:29 AM I'm in, just need an address.
Bulldogger, why are you selling the truck?
problemchild 02-05-2004, 02:02 AM OK
I started this so I better take charge I guess. I looked at paypal and it seems they take about 6% of the bounty.
So depending on how much we collect they could take a big slice of the pie.
Lets see how many "me too's" we get here. I guess I could take a road trip ( one of my favorite things in a running http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif dmax) to central cali and drop off the booty for the engine repair.
Keep them coming (donations) guys. We have about 22 me too's now. Thats $220 dollars. CntrlCalDmax if you can give us an aproximate $$$ damage amount we will try to get close.
Hey if nothing else we could get you a case of premium beer and a large bottle of tylenol.Edited by: problemchild
2MuchFun 02-05-2004, 02:05 AM Paypal charges 3%, but the convenience of it is well worth it... especially in this case.
I got $10 more for Duramax54304.
Lets fix the wrong! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
problemchild 02-05-2004, 02:12 AM Its 3.2% plus .30 cents per transaction. Thats .62 cents per 10.00 dollars which is 6.2%. But if the group wants paypal we will have cntrlcaldmax set it up.

DMAXPWR 02-05-2004, 02:22 AM Count me in for $ 10 a piece for both.I've been there, I know how much it sucks.
flhrciblueice 02-05-2004, 03:12 AM I'm in for both as well. I have no problem mailing checks. Paypal wants too much to do it that way, IMHO. All I need are addresses.
neverenuf 02-05-2004, 04:11 AM count me in, although it's "neverenuf".
Cruz_Man 02-05-2004, 07:51 AM Count me in to. I guess I am looking at $10.00 each send me the addresses or PayPall is gool If pay pall it will be $10.62 each

Idle_Chatter 02-05-2004, 08:07 AM I'm waiting until this gets sorted out, but will be willing to contribute.
Bulldogger 02-05-2004, 08:16 AM I'm in to help both, just decide where the money is going. This way its twenty bucks my wife can't spend on other things I don't need. Davehttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif

Mike L. 02-05-2004, 12:13 PM I'm in for 20.00 each. Post address's and i will mail check.
mike
Camstyn 02-05-2004, 01:03 PM I'm in for $10 each, I'll do Paypal and make it $10.62 each to dispell the costs. It's easier to click on my keyboard than to fill out checks/envelopes and drive to the post office and buy stamps.
If Paypal is a no go I'll send checks but just saying, if I have the choice I'll do it the easy way.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif
CntrlCalDmax 02-05-2004, 01:48 PM THIS IS TURLY OVERWELMING.
If I was really down and out and on the verge of having to sell my truck I may consider everyone's generous offers. But the fact is, I'm gainfully employed and expect to be so for some time to come. I really do not like the thought of spending $5K+ but do not wish to take anyone’s money. If any money winds up coming my way I will donate it to a charity where 90% goes to people who really need it. Please drop the extra $10 in the plate this Sunday morning or help the really needy in your area.
One thing this thread has done is made me feel a lot better and I thank you all for that.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
patrick 02-06-2004, 12:14 AM i would give to duramax54304 as well. i give my 10% at church to help the needy. at times its hadr to know if the bum on the street is for real or not but i always try to help. its tough these days.if we had a way to make the info not known to the public i would give to the cause. i just need an address to send to. got me thinking i know all of us dont know eachother but it cool to have the boys as my wife says to talk to.we spend many hours reading over and over about injectors and lly and juice. what about the membership. most of us work our tails off to just pay bills and live. most of us are not rick and have families.is cool to have people to let stress out with..
flhrciblueice 02-06-2004, 02:25 AM Ditto to what Patrick says. It is in my obligation to assist my destitute brethren.(Just checking to see if there are any other "travelling men" at the Place.)http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif

I must say I was pretty depressed when I learned what I had done. But, talking with everyone here at the Place sure does help.
CntrlCalDmax 02-06-2004, 03:38 PM How about a new tap?
