I was messing with the front overhead console I just got trying to make it so the little map lights would come on when the door opened. I jumped the wire to the lamp and it was working fine for a minute or two...Then suddenly the overhead light in the middle of the roof went out.

Now,

When you open the door, the lights on the bottom of the doors come on, but none of the overhead lights come on (center of roof or front overhead console). If you push the buttons at the lights, they DO come on, but they are not coming on with the door or with the dimmer switch...

I thought it was a fuse, but I cant find any that are blown

But why would the door lights come on and not the interior lights?

First, did you check the underhood fuses too? You never know, it could have gotten one of them. Second possibility is that you burned the dimmer part of the switch. I had that happen on my truck when I tried a different stereo and the wiring harness on it had the ground wire switched to the wrong spot. It burned the dimmer part of the light switch so no interior lights or dash lights. I think on the 03-up the dash lights would still work, but that might be why your roof lights aren't on. They probably have a switch at the dealer, take it in and tell them the switch doesn't seem to work and have them replace it and see if that fixes it.

I'd be concerned that you might have blown an output on the BCM. I will look at schematics and let you know what i come up with.

I assume the BCM is (part of) the computer system?

This is my biggest fear http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif

Thanks for taking the time to look that up http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

I'll also see if I can get a buddy to let me switch the dimmer switch with his truck to see if thats it.

Max,

I found the darn problem! It WAS a fuse after all darn it!

I looked at the truck 4 times. Finally I decided I was going to pull every single fuse until I verified until none were blown. So I go out there, and the second fuse I pull was blown -DUH! ~They're hard to see sometimes http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif

Anyway, I appreciate you offer for assistance http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
